I suddenly remember an african classmate who I studied swedish language in the same classroom. Studying swedish is offered by Swedish goverment for only foreigners who have just arrived. After one year from your arriving in Sweden, those who know the sytem can go to state owned school to study the language free of charge but paying only studying books, even for those who want to have more money to live in , they can apply for the cost to live in .I had a classmate from congo. She came to Sweden after her brothers moving to Sweden. According to her, she has her future husband in Congo, but she had to marry to an old man from Congo living in sweden just for obtaining the right to be here . She had to go to an immigration office to show the proof that she and the man stayed together even they did not. For surviving, she gave a call to her fiance ,explained and promised to him, after her settlingdown , he can come after. This is the way of the system of moving young immigrants to sweden.
The life is hard but not hard as she was in Congo, that I heard from her.Her brother was succesful according to her, since he came as nobody, studied swedish at an immigrant school for a few years, then went to University being paid by goverment and married with a swedish girl and separated after having a baby and remarried with an african background lady. He owned transport company that deliver drinks to restaurants and bars. Doing well and even he could employed her as assiatant and bought an apartment. Who could believe he was cleaning toiletｓ and station when he arrived at first.
Thousands of Africans put their lives at risk as they go on a boat journey in search of what they think would be a better and easier living. It is a journey that begins with hope, but often ends in despair.
According to the film,
most of them depart from Libya late at night, travelling across the Mediterranean Sea in broad streams with Italy as their central destination.
Last year, more than 170,000 migrants arrived there, representing the largest influx of people into one country in European Union history.
Most of the migrants are Eritrean and Syrian but numerous Africans from sub-Saharan regions also use this route.
This year almost 2,000 people have died trying to make this crossing. And the Libyan coast guard intercepts many of the boats transporting illegal immigrants from across Africa to Italy.
They travelled off the coast of Libya to meet African migrants risking everything for a future in Europe. (from Al Jazeera )
